Lavender Essential Oil

Aroma:Fresh, herbaceous, floral. Blends well with rose, rose geranium, ylang ylang, cedarwood, frankincense, floral and woody fragrances.
Uses:Lavender is one of the most widely used and popular essential oils. It is calming, sedative, muscular relaxant, anti-inflammatory, and a powerful tonic for the entire system. Externally for skin conditions such as acne, to soothe burns and scalds, for hair and skin care; inhaled to ease depression and nervous tension; used in the birthing room with a diffuser for childbirth. Spray diluted on pillows and bedding for insomnia. Also great to spray in a baby’s crib to help to sleep.
Safety Data:One of the few essential oils you can use “neat” (undiluted) directly on the skin without irritation.
Recipe:Bath oil: Add 8 drops of lavender, 3 drops of rose geranium and 1 drop of ylang ylang to 1 tablespoon of carrier oil such as jojoba or sweet almond oil. Shake well. Add desired amount to bath water just before entering.
Wild Orange Essential Oil

Aroma:Refreshingly sweet and fruity. Blends well with lavender, lemon, geranium, all wood and spice oils.
Uses:The essential oil of the Wild Orange is delightfully bright and cheery, strongly antidepressant. Good in skin care for oily and acne-prone skin. Orange essential oil is useful as a disinfectant and for nervousness.
Safety Data:It can cause photosensitivity so be careful of applying to the skin prior to exposure to sunlight.
Recipe:Honey Lip Balm: 2 t olive oil, 1/2 t beeswax, 1/2 t cocoa butter, 1/2 t honey, 3 drops orange essential oil, 1 vitamin E capsule. Heat the oil-cocoa butter-beeswax mixture in a water bath over medium heat until beeswax is melted, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the honey and essential oil. Pinch open the vitamin E capsule and squeeze the contents into the mixture. Stir well. Pour the mixture into containers.
Sweet Birch Essential Oil

Aroma:Sweet, sharp, minty and fresh. Very similar to Wintergreen. Blends well with woody and balsamic essential oils.
Uses:Eases muscle aches and pains, stimulates circulation and reduces swellings and arthritic pain.
Safety Data:Birch essential oil contains methyl salicylate, (the active ingredient in aspirin). It can be very harmful in concentration. Always dilute with a carrier oil before use and use very sparingly.
Recipe:For muscle aches or cramps, combine 3 drops Sweet Birch essential oil with 3 drops Rosemary essential oil, 3 drops Ginger essential oil, 6 drops Lavender essential oil and 1 ounce of carrier oil and massage on affected areas.
Atlas Cedarwood Essential Oil

Aroma:Woody and fruity with honey overtones. Blends well with grapefruit, lavender, linaloe, orange, palmarosa, rosemary, ylang ylang, and other floral notes.
Uses:Cedarwood was the first known oil to have been extracted. Tibetans burn cedarwood incense in the temples. The Egyptians used cedarwood for embalming purposes, cosmetics and perfumery. Useful for oily skin or acne, dermatitis, eczema. Cedarwood is also an effective insect repellent and nervous system tonic.
Safety Data:Don’t confuse Atlas Cedarwood with other types (Texas or Virginia Cedarwood). Do not use during pregnancy.
Recipe:Use Atlas Cedarwood in a nebulizer or oil burner for its stress relieving qualities.
Eucalyptus Radiata Essential Oil

Aroma:Fresh, camphorous aroma. Has a more pleasing aroma than the more common Eucalyptus globules or Blue Gum Eucalyptus. Blends well with cedarwood, chamomile, cypress, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, juniper, lavender, lemon, marjoram, peppermint, pine, rosemary, thyme linalool, and thyme.
Uses:Eucalyptus radiata is strongly antiviral and expectorant. Excellent for the respiratory system from top to bottom. Great for colds and flus and sinusitis.
Safety Data:Not compatible with homeopathic treatment. Not recommended for use during pregnancy.
Recipe:To use for bronchial conditions, add a drop or two to a large bowl of boiling water. Cover your head with a towel and drape it over the edges of the bowl. Inhale deeply for several minutes. Also useful in a hot bath or a steam. (For use in a bath, dilute in a carrier oil and be sure to mix thoroughly in the bath water before entering to avoid skin irritation).
Ruby Red Grapefruit Essential Oil

Aroma:Citrus, floral, and fruity. Blends well with lemon, palmarosa, rosemary, lavender, geranium.
Uses:Grapefruit is an astringent and a digestive aid. It acts as a lymphatic. Useful for acne, congested and oily skin. Tones the skin and tissues. Use for local disinfection of rooms; can be added to cleaning waters or sprayed. Also used externally for cellulite, inhaled for depression and headaches.
Safety Data:Grapefruit has a short shelf life as it oxidizes quickly. Keep refrigerated to prolong shelf life.
Recipe:Cooling and deodorizing room spray: 1 oz. distilled water , 1 oz. witch hazel, 3 drops lemon or orange essential oil, 3 drops grapefruit essential oil, 2 drops sweet birch essential oil, 2 drops peppermind essential oil. Add to 2 oz. spray bottle and mist room liberally for deodorizing and refreshing scent. Adjust amount of essential oils to suite your individual desires.
Rose Geranium Essential Oil

Aroma: Herbaceous, sweet, slightly floral. It blends well with other floral oils, citrus notes and woody oils such as patchouli and sandalwood.
Uses:Geranium essential oil is great for many skin problems. It aids in balancing combination and oily skin by regulating the skin's sebum production. It is traditionally used for treating menopause and menstrual conditions such as PMS because of its balancing effect on the hormones and the adrenal cortex.

Recipe:Women’s Aroma Spray: 2 oz. Organic Lavender flower water and 6 drops of Rose Geranium essential oil. Mist freely about body and inhale deeply to soothing and comforting effects.
Linaloe Berry Essential Oil

Aroma:Rich, woody, freshly ground coriander. Blends well with rose, sandalwood, cedarwood, frankincense, floral and woody fragrances
Uses:Extends the rose scent of an essential oil blend. Useful for acne, dermatitis, and wounds when used in skincare. A calming aroma, useful for nervous tension and stress-related conditions.
Safety Data:None known.
Recipe:Emotional Calm Inhaler: 2 drops roman chamomile, 3 drops lavender, 8 drops linaloe, 1 drop ylang ylang. Add these oils to the cotton part of a blank inhaler. Use the inhaler whenever anxiety symptoms arise.
Palmarosa Essential Oil

Aroma:Sweet, floral, rosy, geranium-like scent. Blends well with geranium, linaloe, woody and floral oils.
Uses:Palmarosa has a large spectrum of antibacterial qualities. In body care, this is one of the most important essential oils. Wonderful for teenagers to regulate oil production of the skin and in adults to regenerate and stimulate cellular structure for dry, wrinkled, mature skin. Can be used in all blends for skin care. It has a wonderful, sweet, rosy, geranium odor that makes a wonderful addition to soap blends and cosmetic perfume blends. Makes a great addition to creams and lotions.

Recipe:Skin Tonic for Dry/Mature Skin: 1 oz. Aloe Vera Gel, 1 oz. Rose or Rose Geranium Hydrosol, 4-8 drops Palmarosa essential oil. Blend well in a 2 oz. bottle. Use after cleansing the face and before applying moisturizer.
Patchouli Essential Oil

Aroma:Earthy, smoky, spicy and musky. The scent improves with age. Blends well with cedarwod, geranium, lavender, rose, close, vetiver, neroli, myrrh and clary sage.
Uses:Patchouli oil has been used for centuries in India to scent clothing and bodies. It acts as a sedative and nerve stimulant. Patchouli is great in skin care as it regulates cellular tissue (making it especially useful for mature skin). It is used extensively in perfumery and gives a lasting, alluring quality to any perfume. Very good for acne and sebborheic eczema. Considered to be rejuvenating, the scent induces peace of mind, integrates energy and keeps us in touch with our physical selves (is grounding). This is one of the essential oils that benefits from long storage. Over time, the fragrance deepens and becomes rich and alluring.

Rose (Centifolia) 10% in Organic Jojoba Oil

Method of Extraction:Carbon dioxide extraction, resulting in a truer rose scent than steam distillation and without the chemical solvents used in extraction methods of absolutes.
Aroma:Deep, sweet, rosy-floral. Blends well with jasmine, mimosa, orange blossom, geranium, bergamot, lavender, clary sage, patchouli, benzoin, chamomile, peru balsam, linaloe, clove, palmarosa and other woody and floral oils.
Uses:Our Rose Co2 is diluted to 10% concentration in organic jojoba oil. Rose Co2 is an important component in natural perfumery, having a joyful, uplifting effect on the psyche. Excellent for calming down irritated skin. Useful for broken capillaries, dry skin, eczema, mature and sensitive skin as well as wrinkles.

Rosemary (Verbenone) Essential Oil

Aroma:Fresh, minty-herbaceous scent. Blends well with lavender, cedarwood, tea tree, lemongrass, basil, peppermint.
Uses:Rosemary is a universal aid in massage and wake-up blends. It can be inhaled for loss of memory or mental fatigue. In general, it is used to stimulate both mind and body. The verbenone-type is used to regulate hypothalamic, pituitary and sexual glands. It is indicated for bronchitis, asthma, viral infections, all types of vaginal infections, all sorts of sexual problems, nervous fatigue and depression. Added to massage oil blends, it helps ease muscle aches and pains. Good for acne-prone skin and useful in anti-aging formulas.
Safety Data:Avoid during pregnancy. Not to be used by epileptics.
Recipe:Refreshing Bath Salts: ¼ cup Epsom salts or dead sea salts, 1 tsp. cornstarch, add 6 drops lavender, 6 drops rosemary, 2 drops peppermint to 1 teaspoon oil such as jojoba or almond. Combine and add to a warm bath. Swish to disperse before entering the tub.
Four Thieves Essential Oil Blend
Uses:A blend of the highest quality varieties of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon bark, Eucalyptus and Rosemary. An incredibly effective antibacterial and antiviral essential oil blend. Four Thieves is especially useful during cold and flu season and can be used in a multitude of ways. (This is not the Young Living Thieves essential oil blend, but every bit as effective using the same high quality ingredients!)

Recipe:Add a drop or two to a room vaporizer. Put a drop directly on the soles of your feet to protect against colds and flus and speed recovery. Dilute with water and gargle for sore throats.
